Our Sandy recently went down hard knee wise. Word on the street is he's doing good and could be back riding within the coming months. The Notion physio team have installed a fitness program for Tom, it starts at "basic - dance floor work out" to "heavy - dance floor shut down" with manc walk warm ups and warm downs in between. I'm rambling, get well soon Sandy.....

Notion Store Trip: Day 4 and 5 (Hastings)

We rocked up at our boy James Cox's place last night and were treated to cases of lager beer and a Van Homan platter. The Van Homan platter was designed and constructed by Alexis (James's missus) for the benefit of passing BMX'ers. It's a high quality buffet styled meal, served at a perfect quantity. The weather today sucked, windy and raining but we popped over to The Source ramps, we love that place so much, those guys know how to do BMX right. We managed to hit some spots as featured in the hit VHS "The Last Resort", it turned into a good day even if the weather was poor, everyone seemed to have a good session. We nipped over to Eastbourne so a few of the crew could get tattooed, again by Alexis, who's probably the best in the country at it. Fathead was particularly funny at this point, he came away with a Yorkshire rose. Joe got an attacking panther, Adam and George got art based things, they all looked really good. We didn't roll back in until late but we did manage to pop out for a swift pint before the old town's pub's closed for the night. Last day half the crew headed back with George, me, Adam and Fathead set off a couple of hours later after visiting 4Down for a while and sessioning the wooden park for abit before it gets torn down. The trip was so sick, super chilled UK jaunt. Dodging the weather was fun. We'll pop a web video up here real soon, thanks again to everyone who took care of us, we really appreciated it.. and thanks to everyone who came on the trip and repped Notion Store... word

Notion Store Trip: Day 3 (Portsmouth)

We woke up pretty late at Faz's place after Fathead kept us up all night while losing the plot on 2 bottles of cider. Milk from fox's, pegs, beans from hens were all topics of conversation as he chatted through the night and kept everyone giggling like girls on a school trip. We hit up a classic greasy spoon for breakfast, a real real Eastenders type of gig, with disgruntled locals and cheap tea to boot. We hit up a flatbank based arena in a shitty estate and it was dope.. that was my personal highlight of the day. We hit Hastings and stayed at James Cox's place, many lager beers and a Van Homan platter from his missus Alexis... more to follow

Notion Store Trip: Day 2 (Newport/Cardiff)

Today was really good, we woke up in a Holiday inn after searching all over for a hotel in Bristol, only to be told there's a balloon fiesta (or as Mole puts it a Blue Fiesta) on and all rooms were taken! Not sweet. We looked out in Newport because not only did we get a kick ass hotel but we also rode the surrounding area for half the day and it was sick. Big old fly out session followed by a rail sesh then onto Cardiff. We kept the session their brief and headed out to Farren Downes joint for lager beers and a bed for the night. Highlight of the day had to be a couple of birds in a car (one driving) getting their tits out for us, unprompted, while their kids were in the back!! Day 3 up pompey.. more soon

Notion Store Trip: Day 1 (Birmingham)

So Friday night we hit Pete Moore's joint and it was sick, super sweet set up. We drank all the beers and got our head down for the night. Morning broke for us at like 9am we dodged about for a cooked breakfast but settled for pasty's and spare ribs. The weather was terrible.. rain all day long, we hit up fastlands as it's undercover had a decent session there, loads of smack heads and the usual shit. Then popped over to Coventry to hit the over pass, the sweet set up was covered in rain but we sessioned the big bank and wallride it was cool. Fathead bust his front wheel so we popped to Ride bike store in Coventry, it's so sick.. really nice dudes and a sweet set up. We drove down to Bristol to find a hotel for the night, unfortunately for us there's a "balloon fiesta" on and all rooms were taken, the closest we got was in Newport South Wales where dreams are made of. We woke up there this morning, which is day 2 so stay tuned for that.. more soon

We are really happy to announce that we are stocking Savakas products at Notion Store. Savakas (savakas.co.uk) is a UK clothing brand who produce some really nice stuff. What's Savakas and how long have you guys been around?
Savakas as a collective of people and idea, forever!!! But Savakas started as a blog about two years ago, the clothing followed shortly after.

Who's on the team?
Debatable haha! I kind of never really wanted to have something as official as a 'team'. More of a collection of people who all 'get involved'!

Yeah loads, A few more Garments will be available in the next few weeks, a few new accessories, a few colabs, and something round and hard!!!

What's the future plans for Savakas and where would you like to see yourselfs in the next few years?
There has never been a plan. I never even set out to do a 'BMX' specific company, or even a clothing specific company, Just stick to our guns and embrace all interests.
The main goal now is to progress with the quailty of garments and acheive a subtle individuality. To evolve the aethetic to actually become how i envisoned it.

Youth Squad making moves

As featured in this months issue of Ride UK, we have a solid youth squad here at Notion Store. Kids who push themselves, have a good time and want to travel the world via a BMX bike. We want to help make those dreams become a reality. Little Lee Fletcher was 9 years old when he first mooched into Hyde Park and picked up a BMX. Streetwise from an early age we took him under our wing, and I'm now proud to say he rides for Notion and S&M bikes along with 4Down Distro. Quick fact, Lee consistently wears x2 pair of tracksuit bottoms! I don't ask why, just go with it. Check out Lee's team page over on the 4Down site, here.

First Look Fit Cranks

Some years ago you're first set of 3pc cranks were a big deal, like having your first pint or buying your first packet of jonny's. Often the 3pc purchase came after you're first ever wage packet! Upgrading from the rotten 1pc system was a right of passage, almost cementing the fact you are a rider "I've just spent £130 rats on these, I'm now a bmx'er for life". Mine were a set of Fishbone's purchased from Batley Cycle Sport in late 1998, installing these on my dirtbike was nothing short of a ball ache, I applied some serious hammer to the USA BB. Generally speaking those days are gone on all fronts. Because BMX'ers now run the industry, and we are lucky enough never to have to worry about a 1pc crank, USA bottom brackets or any other tat saturating the market. Same goes for these Fit Cranks we have in store here, Fit is rider run, rider designed and ridden by Van Homan, they kind of know the deal. Black, white or raw, £129.99 POSTED. The S&M Pitchfork XLT, a total stand out item in the store right now. Like everything S&M it's the quality that gets you, it's easy to get lost in the many Taiwanese produced items, which isn't a bad thing by the way, however, with the attention to detail and first class craftsmanship these jump out at you and demand your time.
There's a strong possibility of bias here because I'm a huge S&M fan, but with that I know exactly what goes into every product they offer, in terms of engineering and craftsmanship, it's a big deal to S&M and they do not take it lightly. For £144.99 you invest in arguably the best forks in BMX right now, safe in the knowledge that the guy who welded them together, clocked off his shift, went for a beer, got into a huge bar fight, smashed a wolf over his head, went home and worked on his V8 chainsaw. Thats why I love S&M and the USA.

Yo we are here! This is Notion! my new store in The Works Skatepark in Leeds. We opened last week to the public and everything has gone really well. It's taken a while to get the site on but it's just about dialed in, there's a bunch of video's still to post plus clothing and dvd's to add to the online store, that should all be done in a day or so.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me get Notion running, it's been hard work but totally worth it. All the 4Down guys, Coxie, Birch, Elliot and Tosh at the park my family and all the Leeds kids who have bought stuff and supported us thus far. Above is a web vid of Superstar's Danny Clayton, we'l be making Secret Session's a regular thing with various pro's, so keep an eye out for that! More soon.

First Look Animal Jump Off Remix Stem

This was pretty much the last product I opened from our shipment today for Notion, checked it in and priced it up (£69.99). The jump off stem is arguably as popular as the Redkneck is now and was 10 years ago. The packaging a slick and oozes quality. It's like an expensive watch a rich mistress would buy you. But this has more to it, 48mm reach. Forged and CNC’d with more material removed to save weight while maintaining the trusted strength and also featuring hollow bolts. I was totally into the cross etchings it's quality. Edwin has ridden this stem since it's introduction all those years ago, we have them in stock.

TerribleOne hits the UK for 2010

Ten years ago to the day kids fought in the gutters to get their hands on the Barcode frame and now they are back! TerribleOne will be available in the UK via 4Down Distribution after a lengthy spell with Seventies.
Based originally around Taj's signature frame at Hoffman T-1 have kept the trademark seat stay wishbone but completely re-invented and modernised it for 2010. Here's the specs:

The USA made Barcode frame retails at £359.99. TerribleOne's full catalogue of products is available through us as of February. Ruben's signature frame is in there along with grips, the cyclops top load stem and a huge array of clothing.
